About Mark Gvazdinskas
Thanks for Visiting.
My name is Mark Gvazdinskas and I’m a landscape, architectural and concert photographer and instructor living in Avila Beach, California. Originally from Illinois I’ve always appreciated the vibrant sunsets and early morning light of the Mid-West Plains, but by the time I turned teenager the mountains were calling my name and I knew my college years would be spent in Colorado. Skiing, climbing and backpacking took me to some of the most spectacular spots in the state, but it wasn’t until studying abroad in New Zealand for six months in 2008 that I finally got a camera—it was a little point-n-shoot but it definitely sparked my interest in photography. Having one of my images from Castle Hill, NZ selected as Climbing Magazine’s fan photo of the month got me hooked.
After graduating from Colorado State I was a ski bum for a season and then decided to head further West. I drove the coast from Los Angeles to Portland in search of my next home—San Luis Obispo was a no-brainer.
With an admiration for the outdoors and unique architecture, I’ll also never grow out of loving live music, and I’ve been lucky enough to shoot a multitude of popular musicians for the local venue, SLO Brew, and Collective Effort Events—some of these artists include Dick Dale, Dr. John, Donavon Frankenreiter, Tyler the Creator, Ghostface Killah, G. Love, Bassnectar, Above & Beyond, The Cold War Kids, Keller Williams, Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, GZA of Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop Dogg, Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes, Lindsey Stirling, Stone Temple Pilots, and so many more.
I hope you enjoy my work and thanks again.
